Syria, what’s left to say?

The cold blooded slaughter of James Foley and Steven Sotloff have sent shockwaves through the international community. It’s impossible to imagine the pain of their family and friends, no words will ease their suffering, the images of their children in the macabre and stage managed murders, are horrors they will take to the grave.

It is a damning indictment of our apathy to the crisis in the middle east, that it has taken the deaths of western journalists to jolt the international community from it’s catatonic stance on events in Syria. For three years the world has watched the slaughter of nearly 200,000 human beings. There are no headlines for them, they lay in shallow graves, rotting under tonnes of pulverised rubble, we don’t know their names and we will never see their faces but, behind every death in Syria, lays the same hellish pain felt by James and Steven’s loved…
